Consultations
If you are being referred to our office from another provider our office will schedule a consultation appointment with Dr. Criss first.
The consultation typically consists of a short interview about the overall health of the child and any dental problems being experienced. The interview’s purpose is to understand the child’s dental and medical history, behavior, and to familiarize the child with going to the dentist. This is followed by an examination of the teeth, soft tissues, and bite to determine any problems.
After the examination, the dentist will discuss his or her findings. Each problem will be explained thoroughly to ensure that the parent or guardian fully understands the need for the recommended treatment.
If your child is being referred for tethered oral tissues (tongue or lip ties) we can often do the procedure the same day. If your child is being referred for evaluation of dental growth & development or dental decay then treatment will be scheduled on another day.
